Our tea whisk is crafted in Japan by one of the very few skilled tea whisk artisans in the only region in Japan, Takayama in Nara Prefecture, where traditional hand-crafted bamboo tea whisks are produced. The Bamboo itself is crafted from old bamboo that has served for decades as supports of the roofs on old houses. This bamboo is rare to come by and very precious. This type of bamboo is called susu-dake. Designed by us. The shape is according to the preference of Enshu-school of tea ceremony. We love the size and think it is the perfect whisk!
