Gyokuro is the "crown jewel" of Japanese tea, prized for its high concentration of L-theanine, antioxidants, and sweet-savory umami.
The Volcanic Terroir of Kagoshima In the misty, high-altitude highlands of Kirishima, Kagoshima, the farmer who is a pioneer of organic tea, cultivates Gyokuro in mineral-rich volcanic soil.
Gyokuro, like matcha is shaded before harvest reducing bitterness and astringency and in turn producing high amounts of L-theanine and chlorophyll, giving the tea its signature "umami" and focus-enhancing properties.
This single estate tea is packed with a variety of nutrients, including catechins, theanine, caffeine, saponins, vitamins, polyphenols, potassium, and tannins.

Brew Guide
- 4-5g Gyokuro
- 1st: 100 ml water at 50-55*C for 2.5-3 min.
- 2nd:120 ml water at 70-75*C for 90 sec.
- 3rd: 140ml at 85-90*C for 20 sec.
