We are very grateful and honored to be the only shop in United States to offer these beautiful examples of Japanese heritage tea production in its purest form.

Each competition level matcha is meticulously grown following traditional growing and harvesting methods such as  Shizen-jitate (自然仕立て) which allows the tea plant to grow into their natural shape and Tezumi (手摘み) hand harvesting ensuring that only the youngest, freshest and healthiest buds are carefully selected.

Each tea is absolutely organic and free of toxic pesticides and chemicals. Growing tea utilizing such traditional methods is extremely time consuming and very challenging especially when adhering to strict organic practices. 

The fields are shaded for up to 50 days before harvest under a special tripled layered cover that strategically blocks the sunlight from reaching the delicate leaves. Aa a result, the leaves grow very thin, which is ideal for traditional grinding on a stone-mill. They also stay tender, while developing high amounts of L-Theanine, the amino acid responsible for the smooth umami flavor found in high-quality Japanese green teas.

We recommend consuming straight, with simply water to fully appreciate and experience these incredible teas!
